James Haskell has been voted off I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! after 18 days in the jungle.
The former rugby star’s wife Chloe Madeley correctly predicted that he’d be out next and he welled up as he said goodbye to his campmates.
Speaking to presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, James, who usually consumes 4000 calories a day, confessed that his body started to shut down due to a lack of food.
‘My body started to shut down bizarrely, but it was the fact that I couldn’t walk past jobs that weren’t done, so if the water needed topping up, I’d go and fill it up.
‘I was up and down the stairs the whole time and I was burning a lot of calories and a lot of adrenaline, and, obviously, all the walking to go to the trials,’ James said.
‘I couldn’t concentrate my legs. I had nothing in my legs, I was getting very tired.’
He continued: ‘But I didn’t want to overly complain but I really struggled. But everyone in camp was so kind to me.’
When asked who he’s backing to win, James revealed that he’s hoping Jacqueline Jossa is named queen of the jungle.
‘I think Jacqueline, I think she came in here wanting to do this for herself,’ he said.
Cliff Parisi was eliminated from the show in scenes that aired on Monday, and he later confessed to smuggling salt and pepper into the camp by hiding the seasonings in his pants.
The former EastEnders star followed comedian Andrew Maxwell, who was the second campmate to be evicted following Radio 1 presenter Adele Roberts, who kissed goodbye to the jungle last week.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
